Explore the Beach Access Points
Public beach access on Longboat Key is through small lots along Gulf of Mexico Drive. The beaches themselves are narrower than Siesta Key but significantly less crowded. The gulf-front stretch between the public accesses is often empty on weekday mornings.

The mangrove-lined bay side of Longboat Key offers protected water for kayaking. Multiple launch points along the eastern shore provide access to the intracoastal waterway channels and the mangrove systems.
